Explosions is a performance art series that explores the act of stripping through the use of the Abramovic Method, which challenges: the conventional relationship between performer and audience, the limits of the body, the possibilities of the mind, and incorporates the participation of the observers.
In this series, I use the framework of burlesque and stripping to push my self-imposed artistic limits forward and experiment with Ms. Abramovic’s performance concepts. During the act the audience and I are conversing to co-create a novel performance, an irreplicable moment.
With the repetition and expansion of this piece the artist seeks to continue to deepen her understanding of human emotion, experience, and self-expression through the act's rituals. This piece challenges the self to face/embrace through song, metaphor, and movement --creating art--sharing story, soul.
